Why Choose Broken Bow Family Cabins:
"We absolutely loved our stay! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The highlight was the peaceful stream running alongside the cabin, sitting outside listening to the water was pure relaxation."

Hochatown has transformed dramatically over the past 3–5 years, from a quiet lake town into one of Oklahoma's premier leisure tourism destinations. Beavers Bend State Park alone draws over 1 million visitors annually, with weekend peaks hitting 30,000–50,000 people during fall foliage and summer seasons. That's a lot of guests looking for things to do beyond the trails and the lake.
Choctaw Landing fills a gap that Hochatown genuinely needed: a major indoor, all-weather entertainment option. Rain rolling in on a Saturday? The casino floor is open 24/7. Traveling with a group that has mixed interests, some want to hike, others want cocktails and slot machines? Now you can satisfy both in the same weekend. The Choctaw Nation invested $238 million in the resort itself and an additional $7 million in road infrastructure improvements at the Highway 259 intersection, including new traffic lights and turn lanes, making access smooth even during peak visitor surges.
From an economic standpoint, Choctaw Landing created over 400 new jobs in McCurtain County and is projected to generate approximately $95 million in annual economic impact for the region. The Choctaw Nation's overall economic footprint across Oklahoma reached $4.1 billion in 2023, supporting nearly 27,000 jobs statewide. This resort is a serious investment, and it shows in the quality of the facilities. For guests planning a luxury cabin getaway in Hochatown, the casino is an easy 5–10 minute drive from most cabin areas, a perfect evening excursion without sacrificing your peaceful retreat.
Walk onto the Choctaw Landing casino floor and you'll find over 600 slot machines spanning the full range, penny slots for casual play all the way up to high-stakes progressives for those chasing bigger thrills. The table game selection includes Blackjack, Free-Bet Blackjack, Roulette, Three-Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold'em, with 8–10 tables operating at any given time. Minimums typically start between $5 and $15 per hand, though they can climb on busy weekend nights.
One of the most guest-friendly features: the entire casino is non-smoking throughout. If you've ever spent time on a traditional casino floor, you'll immediately appreciate the difference. The casino operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, no last call, no closing time.
Pro Tip: Join Choctaw Rewards Before You Play
Sign up for the free Chahta Rewards Club at the casino desk before you start gaming. You'll immediately begin earning points on slots, tables, dining, and retail, and first-time members often receive introductory offers like bonus Free Play. It takes five minutes and costs nothing.
Watch Out for the Oklahoma Ante on Table Games
Oklahoma tribal casinos charge a mandatory "ante" or "tax" on certain table games like blackjack, $0.50 per hand on bets up to $50, and $1 per hand on bets over $50. This fee is charged regardless of whether you win or lose, effectively increasing the house edge. Factor this into your gaming budget before you sit down.
The food and drink scene at Choctaw Landing is genuinely impressive for a property of this size and location. Here's a breakdown of what's available:
Tuklo Grill is the resort's signature restaurant, serving what they call "Oklahoma-meets-Southern" cuisine, think fried chicken, catfish with slow-simmered collard greens, and hand-carved Choctaw Beef steaks. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with entrees generally running $15–$30+. Tuklo Grill earned "Best New Restaurant" honors from Casino Player Magazine in 2025, which is a meaningful distinction. Budget roughly $50–$100 for two people at dinner, including an appetizer.
The Mercantile is a 12,000 square-foot retail and dining hub connected to the resort, open 24/7. It houses a Starbucks, the Tuklo Deli (sandwiches, fried chicken, grab-and-go items), a small grocery market, and gift items including work by Choctaw artists. It's the spot for a late-night coffee run or a quick breakfast before hitting the floor.
Center Bar sits directly on the casino floor, offering handcrafted cocktails, frozen drinks, and sports on overhead screens. Cocktails typically run $10–$18 each. Cypress Lawn, the outdoor entertainment venue, adds a beer garden and casual food stalls for a more relaxed, social atmosphere, especially enjoyable on a warm Oklahoma evening.
The lodge-style hotel features 100 guest rooms, including 15 luxury suites. It carries a 3-star quality rating from Guest Reservations and joined Wyndham Hotels & Resorts under the Trademark Collection brand on January 31, 2026, a move that adds booking flexibility and loyalty program integration for Wyndham members. Room rates typically range from $229 to $599+ per night depending on room type, day of the week, and season.
Resort amenities include the seasonal Oka Sita outdoor pool (opening May 15 for the 2026 season), 9 private cabanas, 2 hot tubs, 3 fire pits, and a fitness center. Free parking and free Wi-Fi are included, and no resort fees were identified in current research. The hotel does not allow pets. Hotel stays at Choctaw Landing are not subject to the local Hochatown STR tax stack, which simplifies the total cost calculation compared to cabin pricing where local taxes (9.25%–16.25%) are added on top.
Combining a Cabin Stay with Casino Entertainment
Many guests stay in a private cabin for the serenity and space, then visit Choctaw Landing for an evening of dining and entertainment. This blend gives you the best of both worlds, nature and luxury by day, resort excitement by night, without the premium price of a casino hotel room. A cabin with creek views and a hot tub pairs beautifully with a night out at the casino just minutes away.
Choctaw Landing's outdoor entertainment venue, Cypress Lawn, seats 125 guests in an amphitheater setting and hosts live music, cultural events, and family-friendly lawn activities throughout the year. Events ramp up significantly on weekends and during peak seasons. A Flatland Cavalry concert is on the schedule for July 24, the kind of act that draws both casino guests and Hochatown visitors who might not otherwise set foot on the gaming floor.
The beer garden and lawn games create a genuinely social atmosphere, relaxed, outdoor, and accessible to non-gamblers. Ticketed concerts are available through Ticketmaster; some lawn activities are free. Check the full event calendar at choctawlanding.com/events before your visit to see what's on during your stay. For more ideas on what to do in the area beyond the casino, the Hochatown neighborhood guide covers local dining, outdoor adventures, and seasonal happenings.
Here's an honest look at what a couple should budget for a full day or evening visit to Choctaw Landing in 2026:
The free Chahta Rewards Club membership earns points on all of the above, gaming, dining, and retail, redeemable for Free Play, meal discounts, and hotel credits. Sign up before you spend a dollar. For guests who want the full Hochatown experience without the casino hotel price tag, staying in one of my privately owned Broken Bow cabins and visiting Choctaw Landing for dinner and entertainment is consistently the better value.
Choctaw Landing operates under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) of 1988 and a State-Tribal Gaming Compact between the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the State of Oklahoma. The casino is regulated by both the Choctaw Nation Gaming Commission (CNGC) and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) at the federal level. In FY2023, the Choctaw Nation paid $45.1 million in exclusivity fees to the state, a figure that reflects the scale and compliance of their gaming operations.
The casino offers Class III gaming, slots, blackjack, roulette, and house-banked card games, under the terms of the compact. All guests must be 21 years old to enter the gaming floor and hotel due to alcohol service throughout the property. Valid government-issued photo ID is required. Self-exclusion programs are available for guests with gambling concerns; once enrolled, these bans are permanent. The Problem Gambling Hotline is available at 1-800-522-4700. Guests who need to file a complaint can contact the Choctaw Nation Gaming Commission at PO Box 5229, Durant, OK 74702.
Choctaw Landing is a genuinely impressive addition to the Hochatown experience, and the fact that it's only 5–10 minutes from most cabin areas makes it an effortless evening excursion. You don't have to choose between a peaceful cabin retreat and resort-style entertainment. You can have both.
My owner-operated cabins are trusted by guests across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana, backed by 2000+ five-star Google reviews from families and couples who return year after year. Whether you're a couple looking for a romantic base (check out The Vow cabin for two) or a larger group wanting space and privacy (the Tall Timbers Lodge sleeps up to 22), I have a cabin that fits your crew. Every property is professionally cleaned after every stay, personally cared for, and stocked with everything you need from the moment you arrive.
When you book direct with me, you save on OTA fees and get a real human on the other end if anything comes up, 24/7. My cabins offer hot tubs, fire pits, full kitchens, and the kind of privacy you simply can't get in a hotel. Combine that with a night out at Choctaw Landing, dinner at Tuklo Grill, a few hours on the gaming floor, maybe a live show at Cypress Lawn, and you've built the kind of Hochatown weekend people talk about for years.
Absolutely. Choctaw Landing offers far more than gaming. You can enjoy diverse dining at Tuklo Grill, grab a gourmet coffee at Starbucks in The Mercantile, explore unique gifts by Choctaw artists, relax by the resort pool and hot tubs, or catch live music and family-friendly lawn games at Cypress Lawn. It's a fantastic spot for a meal and an evening out, even if you never touch a slot machine. Many of my cabin guests visit purely for dinner and a show and have a great time.
The most important thing to know is the "Oklahoma ante" on certain table games like blackjack, a small mandatory fee per hand regardless of whether you win or lose. Slot machines range from penny denominations to high-stakes, so there's something for every comfort level. Always set a firm budget before you start playing, and sign up for the free Chahta Rewards Club at the casino desk first, you'll earn points on every dollar you spend, which can translate to Free Play, dining discounts, or retail credits during your visit. The entire casino is non-smoking, which makes for a much more comfortable experience.
You must be 21 years old to enter the gaming floor and hotel facilities at Choctaw Landing. This requirement applies to all guests, not just those who plan to gamble or drink, because alcohol is served throughout the property. A valid government-issued photo ID is required at entry. This is strictly enforced, so leave the younger members of your group at the cabin for this particular excursion.
Yes, it's genuinely worthwhile to sign up for the free Chahta Rewards Club even for a single visit. You earn points on gaming, dining, and retail purchases from the moment you enroll, and those points can be redeemed immediately for perks like Free Play, meal discounts, or fuel at The Mercantile. First-time members often receive introductory bonus offers as well. Enrollment is quick, free, and open to anyone 18 or older with a valid federal-issued photo ID, including out-of-state visitors.
